Greetings

I have Win XP installed on a home computer with myself as the Administrator
and the kids with Limited User accounts. In my 'My Documents' folder I have
various work related files I don't want the kids to have access to. I just
found out that they can get to them even though it appears they cannot
change or delete them.
Is there any way I can prevent access to that directory from a Limited User
Account? I know I can always 'hide' the folder but the kids are getting
older and they'll probably figure that one out soon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Henk

If you had Windows XP Professional you could use encryption.

With PC prices being what they are your best solution is to buy
your children their own computer. Sooner than you think you'll
be faced with huge game installs, every media player available &
Instant messengers,Kaaza and Peer-to-Peer sharing apps being
installed. With a limited account you'll soon start hearing the gripes
about "It won't let me do that." If you use the PC for business, you
will probably not want those kind of applications installed.

Hi,

Right click your folder, select properties. On the sharing tab, use the
option to make this folder private. And note, you need to be a) using NTFS
to do this and b) have the folder under your local profile.
