Hide Desktop Icons: Can an Icon Override This Option?

Hello.
I'm using Windows XP Pro.

This question deals with the desktop Arrange Icons By/Hide Desktop
Icons option.

I need to make a few screen captures, and have enabled the Hide
Desktop Icons option to keep the screen clean.

However, there are one or two icons I do want displayed; all of the
others should be hidden.

Is there a way to configure an icon so that it overrides the Hide
Desktop Icons feature, so it can be displayed even when I enable that
option? If so, what's the procedure?

Or, if this is not possible, what would be the simplest and fastest
workaround? I thought about deleting the desktop icons except for the
ones I want displayed, and then restoring them from the Recycle Bin
when I'm done, but that seems cumbersome. Is there an easier way?
Thank you!
