Hide a series

I want to hide (not delete) a series on my chart. This is
possible in Lotus 123 but I can't find an equivalent
feature in Excel. Any suggestions?

try this:
right click on the series,
format data series
choose "none" for border, are, lines,and\or markers.

Thanks Gary...I have already tried this but it doesn't get
rid of the series in the legend. Having to "hide" so many
indivual parts makes it very time consuming to unhide the
series again at a later point. I was hoping there was some
all inclusive hide/unhide feature that I could use. Any
other ideas?

In the worksheet, you can hide the row that contains the series data,
and the series won't appear in the chart.

To hide the row, use a filter (Data>Filter>AutoFilter), or right-click

To hide the legend entry, click once to select the legend, then again on
the text of the legend you want to delete (not on the legend key, the
marker or colored square) and press the Delete key.

The other option is to hide the column/row containing the data for the
series. By default, Excel doesn't plot hidden cells.
