hidden programs

Where do I find a hidden program that is running? I have
used ctl, alt, delete and there is no program listed
there, but at the same time while doing a checkup of the
computer it says that it can not finish due to a program
that is running? Also, how do i stop this running program?

click start run and type msconfig and check the startup tab
 
Ctrl + Alt + Del/Processes tab. Don't End Process the wrong process.
