Program files is not normally a hidden folder, and I can think of no normal
reason where it should be hidden
usually it's system files in windows system and or system32 that are marked
hidden, are you certain of the name of this folder
and their are no duplicate file names?

Attribites Read Only is checked
Hidden is not check
if you click on the folder it shows empty

What about the rest of the properties?
What does it show for size?
What about number of files?
Number of folders?

Looks like it's empty... Referencing your subject and the original
post, double check your spelling - you're missing an R -- progRam
files.

Go to Start - Run and type in "c:\Program Files" and see what window
opens.
If the spelling is correct and it's still empty, check the properties
of some of your applications - look for one that has a target path
pointing to c:\program files\application name\application.exe, and copy
the path to the .exe file. Go to Start - Run and paste that path, then
click OK / enter. Does the application folder open up with files?
What happens when you go back up one level?

When I put in run c:\Program Files it comes up empty....one level up it shows
the c: drive and all the other folders on c drive
when I put in the path for roxiio (Program Files\roxio ......exe the program
loads as it should....
I have notice under date modified that the folder Program Files was modified
on 6\23\06 I have no idea why.....
this is all occuring on an old computer that I am trying to get a data file
from that is on one of the programs

When you put the program path in Start - Run, leave off the .exe file
for the application (i.e. roxio), so you launch explorer pointed to the
roxio folder.

Does it do the same thing from a DOS prompt? if you change directories
to c:\progra~1 and do a dir does it show any files/folders?
