Hidden personal file not hidden anymore

I posted this question earlier but it never showed up, so here goes again.
In Excel 2003, the personal.xls file is now visible, or at least a sheet for
it is in spreadsheet mode and it won't hide again. Every time Excel is
opened itreappears. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

With the personal.xls active use Window>hide
And close Excel

Say yes to "do you want to save the changes to personal.xls............."
