Hidden data, tracked changes, etc., in PDFs?

Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone knows how safe it is to distribute Word
documents that have been converted to PDF if those documents contain
hidden data, metadata, tracked changes, and/or comments that you do
not want people to be able to view.

I’m dealing with an older version of Word (2002).

Also is there any difference depending on how the PDF was created (by
'printing' it or going through the Adobe PDF menu)?

If it's not visible when you "print" your pdf, then it's not in the
pdf.
