Cannot get Windows to automatically hibernate using the
timing options in the Power Options Properties box and
with the hibernation box ticked. I get hibernation when
I press the sleep button on the keyboard. There is not a
hibernation button on the Turn Off Computer window
although the Stand Bye button changes toi hibernation of
shift is pressed.

as long as the standby time exceeds the hibernate time and the hibernate
check box is checked it should go into standby mode other than that
i have no idea

assuming your running XP, hold down the shift key when the 'turn off
computer' dialogue box is displayed
and hey presto the standby changes to hibernate.
