I have two HDDs. Can I direct XP Home Edition SP3 to use my second (new,
faster) HDD for the Hibernation file? If so, how do I do it?

msnews.microsoft.com

for performance you may want to direct your temp directories to the faster
hd
At the very least
1. look at Internet Explorer temp files:
-open IE,
- click tool, options.
- click the Setting Button, and then "move folder",
- follow the prompts ...
- whn done click ok...
2, optionally, hold down the windows key and tab the pause/break key once,
out pops the "System Properties windows
- click on the advanced tab
- environment button, change the top half variable for temp and tmp to a
folder in your 2nd drive

BTW some people say leve the system temp dir on separate Disk drive from
user temp directories unless the system is really slow

of course you can try download from microsoft the tweakui utiolity and set
various folders to the 2nd drive including the Cd/Dvd temp directory
