hibernates

1) start -> shutdown => doesn't hv hibernate option, how to make it to
reappear.

2) I set my PC to hibernate after 2 hrs of inactivity, however, it doesn't
hibernate, so any body can suggest how to get it done?

3) what I understand abt hibernate is that it saves all of his memory into
hardisk, and then switch off, let me know if what i know is not correct.

For some strange reason; try pressing the 'sleep' key on keyboard, then re-check to see if the hibernate option is there, works 4 me!

First check in Power options - Hibernate page to make sure that
Hibernation is actually enabled.

Then see if 'Standby' on the shutdown selector changes to Hibernate if
you press Shift
