Hibernate

I was working on one of my friend's Notepad. It was Toshiba's Notebook with
Windows XP Service Pack 2.

When I was going to turn off the Notebook, what I saw is 4 different options
as buttons. Like

Hibernate Standby Turn Off Restart

The hibernate option was there on the menu. As it only appear when we hold
down the Shift key.

Can someone tell me what update i need to do this on my PC.
