Are you entering data in a Microsoft Access database (the subject of
this newsgroup)? If not, please use the list on the left side of the
screen to find the program you *are* using.

If you're using Access, please explain the context. What is open when
you're trying to enter data?

It sounds as if you are using Word which, as John says, is
not the subject of this newsgroup.

However, you may find in the toolbar a button with that note
on. It is called Show/Hide and toggles the display of
returns and spaces on or off. If it's not in your toolbar
try using the key combination Ctrl* .
