I've had the exact same thing happen to me before.

I always boot to Safe Mode, find the file, and then delete it. It usually works...but I've had some to come back when I boot back to Normal.

I have no clue as to how to get it out of the registry...so you may want to wait and let someone like muckshifter take care of this.

Its correct that you usually have to delete an active file whilst in safe mode - but before you attempt to do this, can you let us know exactly what the file is you are trying to delete, and what directory its in?

Also you need to post a proper HijackThis logfile for us to have a look at - running it from its own folder ;)

Is the system32 directory your referring to supposed to be what you are trying to delete? - if so I need the exact filename and location.

I'm afraid that isn't a correct or full HijackThis log - you appear to be running it from your desktop - install it in its own folder on C:\Program Files.

Make sure you download the latest version from HERE, and use the FAQ page to help you generate the log, and then post the full log here :thumb:
