Help....

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can give me some help.

I'm a novice with excel and I need to know how to do something.... Well here
goes....

I have different worksheets for a company. One of them is stock information
and one is an order form. On the order worksheet, I have a "item code"
column, "description" column and "quantity" column.

What I need to do is write the formula so when you type in the item code it
displays the item description and price and also when you type in the
quantity it displays the total price......

Can anyone help, please........

Jaffa,

You may take look at VLOOKUP(), I think it does what you need. See Excel Help
and post back if you need any assistance.

Thanks for the help guys.

I had an idea that I had to use VLookups but I can't get my head around
them. I'm not exactly sure what to do :-/

Nevermind.

Thanks anyway.

Hi
you may provide some more information about your spreadsheet layxout
(e.g. post some example rows: plain text - no attachment please) and
describe your expected result. Then a specific VLOOKUP formula could be
easily given :)

Thanks Frank.

But I studied it a bit more and figured it out. I just didn't understand the
syntax. Now I do :)

Thanks again.......
