i can not acess any sites and it comes up 'can not find
server'when i open internet explorer.

could be a lot of things, check with your isp, make sure
your firewall is't blocking. do you have too many other
programs running, not enough ram? try another broswer. is
it IE6 or msn browser?

Rule out parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
