Spotted Leopards are a known quantity all right.

Unfortunately, they are stealthy creatures, good at using cover to conceal
their movements. Fortunately, once you do spot them, you can usually manage
to keep a safe distance from them. It is only when you wander unknowingly
within their attack range that you are in any serious danger.

Our own local leopard is well known and easily spotted (pardon the pun) by
those familiar with the territory. It is, therefore, a valuable service you
provide in pointing him out to the tourists just passing through unaware of
the danger they are in when they step to close to him.
