Help!

sorry if i am not like the rest of you and can ask
questions flawlessy but anyways i reformated my hd using
the windows cd and it worked fine but now all of a sudden
my c: looks like a generic file type and when i try to
access it i get cannont find startsetup.exe.

What is a "generic file type"??
I would suggest a reformat and reinstall of XP

A hint: instead of typing "but anyways" try starting a new sentence.

example:

Reformating the HD would erase everything.
Do you have more than one HD?
I *think* you might need to reinstall win xp.
