I need a formula that will take the amount of "ounces" I put in one
range of cells and in another range of cells I need the "ounces" to be
totaled.

Like this...

amount total
A1 9 oz 9 oz
A2 10 oz 1 lb. 3 oz

=INT(SUM(A$1:A1)/16)&" lbs "&MOD(SUM(A$1:A1),16)&" ozs"

I would add a test for "" for yet-to-be-filled cells.

=IF(A1="","",INT(SUM(A$1:A1)/16)&" lbs "&MOD(SUM(A$1:A1),16)&" ozs")
