Help!

I've recently bought a new laptop.

it has windows vista home premium on it. I'm having troubles with connecting
to our wireless network. the status bar shows that the connection is only
'good' when about 2ft away from the wireless router. I'm also getting
download speeds of about 50kb/s which i havent seen since my dial up days
(about 7 years ago) (i have cable)

any suggestions of how to fix this?

Hi,

Try disabling the HP wireless assistant (msconfig) and enabling Windows Zero
Config (in services.msc). Also check that you have the latest driver
version, as its likely been updated since the system was built. Your model's
drivers are listed here:
