Is anyone else having problems with compatibility issues with Vista?? The
Norton Security does... as does my printer, a Lexmard 4250 series. The
Norton will work to some extent however the printer won't even install. Any
ideas??

If you're not installing a Vista version of the Norton product, that
explains that part of it. Vista isn't XP so you don't want to install XP
utility or security programs on it.

You'll probably need an updated driver for your printer.

Both of these topics are addressed in numerous posts throughout the Vista
newsgroups. Poke around or do a search for more info.

norton has many problems with vista.
look elsewhere for your virus scanner needs.
avast works perfectly with 32 and 64 bit vista.

lexmark is VERY slow in producing drivers for older printers.
they expect you to buy one of the new ones with vista drivers.
beat on lexmark's door for drivers, or
look elsewhere for a better company.

I am having a hell of a time as well with my Lexmark 4250. I searched Lexmark.com and their Vista Compatability List doesnt list this printer. Im so pissed. It furiates me that they (microsoft) didnt go to the extreme and get with all if not most of all popular hardware/software vendors and get them up to speed on vista drivers BEFORE they released it out to the public. I feel like a moron for getting all hyped up on Vista. ::shakes fist:: Crapheads! Grrr!

If I find anything Ill post it here. Good luck.

Yes. I had a problem today where I tried to check the compatibility of a
program with Vista. What opened instead of the compatibility wizard was a
window displaying an email I had written to the company which provides the
program itself. I couldn't close the email window and the aqua circle that
rotates while a program is loading did not stop. After a long time I tried
to restart the computer through the start menu. I was told the computer
couldn't restart because the given program was open. I had to shut down and
manually restart. Any suggestions?
