I am having a problem running simple commands from the dos prompt. For
instance, If I type PING or any other command I get this error message The
name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.


Please help. I have Windows XP SP2.

Hi

From a command prompt type

path

and then check to see if the windows\system32 folder is listed. If it's not
listed, then commands like 'ping' won't work.
