My Exchange Server cannot see the global catalog therefore
I am unable to do certain things on the server. Existing
users can open their mailbox and read mail and so on. The
mail server also can see all users in active directory on
the global catalog server. I've demoted and then promoted
the DC to correct the problem but that didn't work. The
only thing added to either server since this issue has
started occuring is the edition of Service Pack 4. Is
there a valid issue with this or is there some other fix I
need to shoot for here?

I ran dcdiag and it came back stating the SYSVOL is shared
but with errors and at the end stated that the DC is
down.
