Help! Wont run my spyware remover progs!

Hi!
Please help. I am able to download and install etc. The
programme to remove spyware shows on my desktop. But it
wont allow me to run it. I have tried loads (Spybot/Lavasof
etc etc!) I have lost my desktop and various other
applicaions! Please please help!!!
