I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with windows and I tried to use the sfc
/scannow feature but it just flashes a black screen with white letters ...and
it flashes so fast I cannot tell what it wants. I have run this a million
times beforwe with no problem but now it doesnt work. Has anyone any idea why
this happens and how to fix it?
Thanks,

Open up a command prompt window,
Start -> Run -> cmd.exe in the Open box.
At the prompt, enter sfc /scannow to see what error message, if
any, is posted.

Good luck

1. Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
2. In the Command Prompt window type: SFC /SCANNOW
and hit enter. Have your Windows XP CD available.
