Help with SSH/SFTP

mark

I can successfully connect to my mac on the net through my FTP app, I simply
turn on Remote Login and then in my remote FTP enter my IP address and u/p
and I'm connected.

I've tried to do the same with my XP pro machine but everytime I try to
connect I get connection refused.

I've forward all ports to the machine, I can connect to it via HTTP but
everytime I try to SFTP into it I get connection refused. Is there some
setting that needs to be switched on somewhere or do I require addition
software?

Yes, the Protection software you have installed on the XP Pro, if it is
Third party Firewall you need to configure the Port and the Remote service to
be allowed in the firewall.
If it windows the same as the Third-party configure to allow remote
connection and open the port for that connections.
But be warned to make your setting secure you only have the rights to login
and perform that procedure by passwording.
Also it is good to establish a VPN more secure to connect and share
files/folders.
