ok, I've installed the 2nd drive in my tower - went into Computer
Management/Disk Management and have formatted the new drive, and then did
Action/Rescan disks - and now it reads as Disk 0 - (C) and info and then
Disk 1 - New Volume (H:) 74.55 GB NTFS Healthy

is there anything else I need to do to the new slave drive in order to start
transfering the files on my c drive to the h drive? or do I just copy and
paste??

thanks

Pam

We could use more details on what you are trying to do. Are you just
wanting to use the second drive for data or are you trying to duplicate your
'C' drive to the new drive?

If they are documents, MP3s, video files etc, you can just right click on
the My Documents icon on the desktop and select a new target... the contents
will be moved over.

If they are programs, you need to uninstall them from C: and reinstall on H:
to keep all registry entries correct.

thanks for all the info - I've copied and pasted all the files ect to H -
and then pointed MY DOCUMENTS on C to the H drive...while all the files show
up again under the MY DOCUMENTS on C drive, when I right click on a folder
under my documents, it is pointing to H drive..so guess I've done it
correctly :-)

thanks!
Pam
