Help with selecting nonadjacent fields and records

How do I select multiple nonadjacent fields and records to transfer them over
to an Excel sheet ? I tried to highlight using the shift key, but it
highlighted everything in between the two fields I wanted, instead of just
the two fields.
 
Create a query based on your table with just the 2 fields you want, then you
can either
export the query to Excel or highlight the column and copy and paste as I
suspect you have been trying to do.
