Hello all, first time for me on this board. I'm a mediocre Excel user
I know just enough to get myself snarled up in nested functions an
simple macros. Here's my puzzle:
I have a report I need to run for different stores with uniqu
identifiers (101, 102, 103, etc.). For 80% of the report, I'm fine
because the data sheet has one row per store, with a gazillion columns
I can easily do the VLOOKUP function for most of the report.
However, the rest of the data is in another worksheet, it's essentiall
a list of customers for each store. So store 101 might have 6
customers, store 102 has 75, etc. I need to figure out how to pul
just the first 20 customers for each store into my report. I trie
fooling around with a nested VLOOKUP/OFFSET combo, to no avail. Als
tried to create a macro using "Find" to find the first customer for th
store and copy the range of cells. However, I'm not having any luck.
I'm happy to do the legwork on my own, but can anyone tell me the righ
terms to look up under Help? I want the equivalent of a Mail Merge i
Word, that is, "Go and get the first thing, and then get the NEX
thing, then the NEXT thing, until I tell you to stop."
Thanks for any suggestions! Emil
