help with routing sound

I'm playing mp3 files from my PC, the output is plugged into a stereo
receiver. The problem is, when ever a web site has sound on it it too
gets amplified though the same system. I have the windows sounds turned
off, but web sites are different. I'm wondering if there is any way I
can get winamp/mp3 files to play though the stereo but no other sounds.
Is this possible?

You can turn off the web-sites sound through:

Open Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options (or Start - Control Panel)
Click Advanced Tab - under Multimedia - uncheck "Play Sounds in web-pages"
