Can someone tell me the right procedure for setting up a roaming profile. A
kb article says to just click the profile in XP and change it from local to
roaming. However, it's not usually available from the beginning. I added a
path to the profile in active directory for the user in one domain and now
when I log into XP, it says there is nothing on the server and it won't
update the server when I log off. In another domain, I added the path for
the profile, and copied my local profile to the server, but it didn't
replicate the server down to my PC. I just don't understand it very well.

What are the steps to make a roaming profile work?

Thanks,
Gary

when you put in your path make sure the path is shared
and the user has read/write access (actually the best way
is to give the "creator owner" full control) and make
sure the path name looks something like \\server\share\%
username%. Make sure you use %username% variable instead
of manually typing in the username. Hope this
helps! -Precision
