Help: with question

Hi,

At a job interview today I got asked the following question that I
didn't know the answer to

Given an AD of depth T, what is the maximum number of records that
must be reordered if a device is removed?

I was interviewing for a UNIX administrator's job and was totally
unprepared for the active directory question. Since the person didn't
provide any additional information, the question didn't make much
sense to me. Could someone please enlighten me?
