Help with page not found on every load

Everytime I open Internet Explorer or AOL which uses IE, it displays Page not Found. I know I have an interrnet connection because I have DSL and after downloading Netscape, I can browse the web, and also sign in on Instant Messenger and use every web problem other than Internet Explorer. I tried downloading IE 6 Service pack to overwrite my current IE, but nothing changes. If anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE HELP!!

I am running Windows XP for OS.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
