Help with mouse sensitivity

I am currently having some problems with my mouses RIGHT click. Since i am a
gamer i can't really cope with this. When I am doing "mouse look" i use my
right click and randomly it will flicker on and off. I tried it with another
mouse and it worked perfectly. I have 2 mouses in my home, the one that is
messed up is a laser mouse and more sensetive then my other one which is a
ball mouse. I want to use my ball mouse but it is far too laggy compared to
my other mouse. I went to Start->Control Panel->Mouse and under Pointer
Options tab there is a little section that says Motion. Under that is a
slider bar Slow___________Fast. I want my ball mouse to be more sensetive so
i slide it to the fast side. I click apply->OK and right when i click ok the
mouse sensetivity resets on me. For some reason I cant get it to stay at
fast........whats going on can anyone please help me?

Yes...the switch in the mouse is broken.
