Help with macros

M

mag

I created a bunch of macros that actually work (!) and now I'd like to
rename them so that they're in the order they get used in a document rather
than in alphabetical order, but I have no idea where on the computer they're
stored.

I'd also like to have them as toolbar buttons but can't figure out how to do
that and "help" isn't very, well, helpful.

All advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Maggie

I wouldn't waste time renaming them to tell you the truth:)

Instead I'd just add them to a custom menu or assign buttons on a toolbar
but arrange the commands in whatever logical sequence is appropriate. They
can have whatever "label" you wish - including spaces & punctuation -
without displaying the actual macro names.

Perhaps this link will make things clearer than Help:

I'm assuming you created them completely by recording, because they're easy
to rename if you're in the code. Do Tools>Macro>Macros to bring up the list
of macros. With any macro selected, click Edit. Now you're in the code-- just
go through it and change the name of the subs (and save). While you're in the
file, you might get ideas of how to tweak your macros.
