help with keyboard shortcuts

i appear to be having a problem with my keyboarD. everytime i type certain
keys different programs are brought up on the screen eg the letter r brings
up the run program

The keyboard short to bring up Run is the Windows key + R.

Do you have a sticking Windows key? Try borrowing another
keyboard to test.

My thoughts exactly.

S, does pressing various keys follow this pattern: http://www.activewin.com/tips/desk_tips_10.shtml ? If so, then like Gerry said,
your Windows key is jammed either physically, or in software. Try pressing them both a few times to see if it clears it up.
