I have been sat here all xmas day trying to get music onto my daughters mp3
palyer she got for xmas, i have doen this for other people on my pc at least
4 times with different mp3 palyers , but this one has me baffled, i thought
it was a plug and play, no drivers needed, it has a small driver cd , but
usually with xp they are not needed , and if they are i just put the cd in
and windows wizard thing comes up and your doen in no time, not with this
one, i plugged it into usb port, says "usb device is not recognized" one of
the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does
not recognize it, so i double clicked on the usb device showing as unknown
device and it says no drivers are installed , so i got the cd and put it in
but it doesnt run as the others have , it just opens up in a window with
-Driver no. 050920 at the top , and two folders one is MP3 and MP4 tool, the
other is just Tool, when i go into the first folder , there is 3 folders, AMV
convert, MTV convert and Player, go into any of these folders and there does
not seem to be any driver files , i cant seem to find a way to install
drivers, can anyone help me , i cannot contact the manufacturer as i dont
know who it is , there is no actual name on mp3 palyerand it just says SBO
with a small 2 at the top of the O, not got much to go on , im afraid, the
instructions just say if the device cannot be found , try reinstalling the
drivers , and thats me back to square one , ive been trying all day!

Hello,

If you cannot get the device to work and no device drivers have been supplied, your best bet would
be to return the MP3 player and get one of a reputable brand such as Creative, iRiver etc. You can
find tons of 'Plays for sure' certified MP3 players here:

Thanks , ive tried to contact the seller, to see if it can be returned , i
have had it since october so maybe i cnat now, but although the disk that cam
ewith it says its the drivers , i will be damned if i can find drivers on it
and it doesnt install automatic, i have went to each folder and found set up
files and installed them , but even then , windows still cant detect a
device, adn if i go to upgrade on the installed files , it even says no
device detected, and it is plugged in to the usb port , so i give up, i will
look at your list and see, thank you

I have a Sandisk "Plays for Sure" and I am having the same problem as
everyone else. USB device not recognized. I have XP media edition with
SP2. The 2 MP3 players worked fine on my parents computer. I have talked to
HP - installed some hotfix that was supposed to work - then they had me
re-install my usb ports - nothing has worked. I see that numerous people are
having this problem - it seems to be related to the SP2 & maybe the XP media
edition. IS MICROSOFT LOOKING INTO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? I am very
frustrated! I have seached database etc. and there are no answers.
