help with importing .csv file please

me

i've got a bunch of dates which i have on excel - i figured it would be easy
to save as a .csv file and import into outlook but whatever i do i don't
seem to be able to get them into my calendar -
in my excel file i've got columns for start date; start time; and subject -
i saved as a .csv file but when i import into outlook nothing appears - i've
tried the date in various formats, i've made sure the date cells are
formatted as a date in my worksheet; i've tried the start time as 12 and 24
hour clocks and the column is formatted as time; i've followed the
instructions for importing on each occasion -

any clues plse? am i missing something stupid? or is there another way of
getting the data into my calendar without having to input each one as an
individual appointment?

Outlook needs to have the date and time in one column, not two. You'll need
to concatenate them in the spreadsheet before you import. Also, you can
check the field mapping as part of the import process.

thanks for your reply - but i really don't understand what i need to do -
i've looked up your advice on google but i don't find any simple
instructions about this - is there a page which i can go to which has simple
intsructions about this process plse?

i've also tried the help files on excel but i don't find anything to help me
there either

thanks

What in particular do you not understand? There's no simple how-to, because
every import file is unique. If you copy and paste a couple of lines from
your file, I'll do what I can.

no probs now - i've managed to fix it -

to fix it i created a new calandar and put one item in it - i then exported
that calendar as a .csv file to find out what outlook expected of me - using
that as an example, i just copied my data in the columns outlook expected me
to put categories in such as start date, time etc. then i could import my
data into outlook as a .csv file -
