Help with HDD

Clayton

I have a Maxtor HDD which shows up on post boot but doesn't not load the OS,
I have entered the BIOS and looking at first boot device only shows floppy,
network and CDRom, NO HDD? I have tried the utility from Maxtor which fails
all test's and fdisk says No Fixed Disks Present, also tried part.exe which
is a partition manager and that says Error Getting Hard Disk Parameters. I
had the Welchia virus on this yesterday.
Is there a utility I can use to delete and recreate the partition? or do I
really need to replace it?

thanks

If the Maxtor utilities failed, it's a pretty sure thing that the drive is
toast. Check to see if it's under warranty.

Completely Lost

Try flashing the bios. If there is no hdd in bios/setup something is
terribly wrong.

Hi!Clayton!
If the Maxtor Powermax utilitiy failed then you have to replace the HDD.

A virus wont physically kill your hard drive.
