help with FORMAT

i cant format my pc
ive got a 120gb hard drive i split it by accident 2gb C
drive the rest D drive ive put xp on D drive with every
other program when i try to format it says drive in use
please help
 
Yes. All MS OSs boot from C drive. So if XP is mostly on D then D and C will always be in use while XP is running. Boot from the XP CD and during setup you can partition / format the drives. Read up on the fixboot command in the recovery console before proceding because if you format C XP won't boot.
