help with file association. PLEASE!

Some program stole the association for "xhtml documents".
After i uninstalled the program, I associated .xhtml with
"xhtml document". But I still tried to open with the
program that I just uninstalled.

I wanna make the xhtml files open with internet explorer
again, how do I do that? I also wanna revert to the
default icon for xhtml documents.

As with any permanent file association, find one of the files with Windows
Explorer. Right click on it and choose "Open With" and then "Choose
Program". There you will be given the opportunity to pick what ever program
you want, just be sure to check the box that states "Always use the selected
program to open this kind of file".

I looked in Control Panel \ Folders \ File Types
Don't see any xhtml, although there is an xml, which opens with
internet explorer and uses an icon from this source:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\MSXML3.DLL

Do you have anything called xhtml.dll on your system?

Yes that extension does exist go to this file extension site link for info:

By the way http://filext.com/ is a quick way to find info about file
extensions. You just type an extension in the Search For Extension box, and
click the GO button.
