Hello,

I have a win2k server with AD and Exchange running my event viewer (SYSTEM
LOG) comes back with about 12 different error messages like the following

Registration of the DNS record
'_ldap._tcp.Default-First-Site-Name._sites.dc._msdcs.xxx.com. 600 IN SRV 0
100 389 mail.xxx.com.' failed with the following error:
DNS operation refused.

Registration of the DNS record '_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.xxx.com. 600 IN SRV 0
100 389 mail.xxx.com.' failed with the following error:
DNS operation refused.

Registration of the DNS record 'xxx.com. 600 IN A 11.11.111.11' failed with
the following error:
DNS operation refused.

There are several more error messages like these.....My server is still
werking correctly and my users can see the box np. Just want the event
veiwer not to be full all the time.....
Is this a problem with MY dns settings??/

Thanks in advance
DBC

These errors are generally caused from having your ISP's DNS in TCP/IP
properties.
Your ISP's DNS should not be used in any posistion in TCP/IP properties of
any member of an AD domain member or DC. Only use your local DNS and set the
zone to allow dynamic updates.
