microsoft told me ALCXWBM.SYS is the sound card. they say
it does not like win 2000 and I have win 2k pro.
can anyony help? Thank in adavance

Rename the driver file alcxwbm.sys to alcxwbm.bad, if necessary
while in the Command Console mode, then get a better driver (or
a different sound card).

What is Command Console mode sorry I do not know?

- Set your BIOS so that the CD is the primary boot device.
- Pop in your Win2000 CD
- Reboot
- Select "Repair" when prompted
- Select "Command Console" when prompted.

You might want to ask a friend who has experience with
PC maintenance, to help you with this one.
