help with an append query

check your table's field properties. is the first name
field set as the primary key, or is its' Indexed property
set to Yes (No Duplicates)? either situation would
prohibit records with duplicate names being appended.
 
That was it.. thank you Tina.. and I knew that too.. I feel silly.
