I recently (10 days ago ) did a full reinstall of windows xp professional and
ever since I did it when I transfer files from one place to the other
..(.drive to drive ) it takes forever to get them to move . I dont know how
fast it used to go but to move like a 1 gig folder it takes 18 minutes. can
anyone give me some advice ..i thought i was missing drivers and I was but
I've got no yellow question marks in device manager except for a usb 2.0
device. I run an AMD 3200/64 with 1.5 gigs of DDR RAM and have an nvideo
video card ...(don't know if that helps or not) I ran a full diagnostic if
you think it would help to post it. also I donot have SP2 and don't want to
install it jill

If you wiped your hard drive during the full reinstall chances are you've
wiped your mobo drivers.
These are usually on a CD that came with your computer.
If you did not wipe your drive you need to check your drives settings under
device manger/IDE ATA/Atapi controllers/
specifically the transfer mode to make sure it matches the speed of your
drives.
