Help: Weird Excel 2003 Behavior

I have a fairly simple excel model, consisting of 17 worksheets that only
contain internal links and only uses the built-in Excel functions.

I would appreciate any help diagnosing/fixing the following weird behavior:

When I make changes to my model, Excel randomly copies the changes to other
worksheets within the workbook. For example, if I inserted a row in
Worksheet A, and enter data/formulas in the new row, that row (with the same
data/formulas) gets inserted into worksheet D.

I've checked the document for:
1). Viruses three times;
2). Extraneous links using the formula auditing tool;
3). Extraneous links/cell content by viewing the model at 25%, to see if
cells outside of the ones I am using contain links.

None of the above identified any problems with my model. The weird behavior
happens on my laptop running Excel 2003, as well as someone I am
collaborating with who is running Excel 2000.

Thanks,

Matthew,

Your links can only return data, not insert rows and stuff like that. Are
there any macros, perhaps some you're not aware of? Look in all the
modules, especially the sheet and workbook modules. The only other thing
that comes to mind is that you have sheet D selected (using Shift or Ctrl)
as well as Sheet A when you do that row insert. Look for the word "group"
in the title bar after the file name, and both sheet tabs lit up.

Dude

Do you see [Group] after the filename in the title bar?

If so, you have a couple of sheets grouped together.

Right-click on any sheet and select "ungroup sheets".

Thanks,

When I had this problem it was the fault of a macro. I never worked out what
was wrong with the macro, because all it did was apply formats based on
whether the cell contained a formula or not. However, when I inserted rows
or copied and pasted data on a worksheet, a totally different worksheet
would also get the line inserted or data pasted - in a different cell
reference too. Odd.
