rows and columns were hidden on a wooksheet, the file was closed and the changes were saved, how can I unhide the rows and columns after opening it again. I know they are there, but I can't unhide them

1) Click the gray rectangle at intersection of row and
column headers. This will select all the cells in the
workbook.
2) Format...Row...Unhide menu item should unhide the
hidden rows
3) Format...Column...Unhide menu item should unhide the
hidden columns
If the preceding steps don't work, then your workbook
and/or worksheet may be protected. If there is no
password involved, the Tools...Protection menu item
should allow you to unprotect the workbook and worksheet.
You may then proceed with steps 1 through 3 above.

If there is a password protecting the worksheet, then
there are numerous aftermarket tools for cracking the
password. I don't know the rules on this site regarding
posting a link to such tools, but you'll find them easily
enough on Google.

Kevin If you only want to do one column or row at a time use the * Edi
GoTo * and in the *Reference * box type in a cell address for the ro
or column. The cursor will go to that cell address but you will not b
able to see it. Then use the * Format - Row or Column - Unhide. *

Brad wish I had run across that tip before[/b] I figured it out th
hard way ;
