Help: Umax Powerlook III Will it scan these?

Can anyone tell me if a Umax Powerlook III will scan plate glass negatives
measuring 8.5" by 6.5"? If so, does it do a good job of it??
Any help really appreciated.

I think this is the same unit as the Heidelberg Linoscan that I own and yes
it will scan the plates and make a very nice job of it.

The answer to your questions is YES. I dont regularly read this
newsgroup or I would have responded sooner. I can;t give you any
direct comments on quality since I don't scan glass plate negs. I do
use my PowerLook III to regularly scan 4x5 film negs and it works jsut
fine. I wouldn't use it (or any flatbed scanner for taht matter) for
final productionor presentation work but it does an excellent job for
working ont he screen and for 'quick prints.'
