There are two things about Explorer that drive me up
the wall:
1.) When I am trying to drag and drop files from the file list
into one of the folders in the folder pane, often the list of
folders in the folder pane starts scrolling. This inevitably
happens just as I have the cursor over the desired folder and
I end up dropping the files into the wrong folder.

2.) Again with dragging and dropping: when I am trying to
drop files into a folder that has subfolders, often the folder
in the folder pane gets expanded, causing the list of folders
to scroll, and again I end up dropping the files into the
wrong folder.

Is there any way to turn off those two extremely annoying
"features" ?

Use copy&paste instead of drag-n-drop. : )

I'll try to remember to do that.
However, I've got the drag n drop habit from using Linux
and NT which don't have such nasty bugs in their file managers.
(Or at least they wait a decent interval between the mouseover
event and doing that idiotic scrolling in the folder pane or
auto-expanding folders. If W2K could at least wait a couple
of seconds instead of doing it as soon as the mouseover event
occurs ... )
