Help: Third Party / Updated network driver

S

Sai Kit Tong

Hi,

I tried to create an XP image for my system using Embedded XP. After I ran
TargetAnalyzer TAP to create the .pmq file, I used the Target Designer to
import it to set up my base configuration. However, when the file is loaded,
it sends the error that the network driver could not be found Inter(R) PRO
VE Connection. I looked at the device ID of the card, I get the following:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1039...

Then I examine the .inf files in the (XPE) respositorities, I could only
file DEV_1031-DEV_1038 in net557.inf.

Then, I tried to use the installation disk network inf file neti557x.inf to
create a component (using component designer). I cleaned up other driver
components and left only the Inter(R) PRO VE Connection with the same
DEV_1039 ID in the resources tab. I made all required files included in the
respository. I rebuild the image. All driver files were copied to the image
by the build. However, when I launch the XP Embedded image, it showed the
network card in the device manager but no driver were loaded.

Could anyone point me a step by step procedure to include a third party
network driver from their INF file?

Thanks in advance.
