Ramesh,
I think I have found something else that is probably related.
In Help & Support Center If I click on Index/Search with wild cards/Display
and select Related Topics the Help Center closes.
This happens when I select any " Related Topics"

Paul,
Unlike the H&S Index, I'm unable able to repro the problem. But this Index
also uses hhctrl.ocx. You may perhaps try these commands:
Click Start, Run and type:
regsvr32 /u hhctrl.ocx
Reboot, and reregister it
regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx
Also, let us know if you're able to generate the problem consistently. You
may also try a System Restore rollback (just before you installed the
update) to know if that is causing the problem. You can undo the rollback at
a later stage, though.

wrote in message Hi Ramesh,
Like I said the problem in the Index function of the Health & Support Center
is fixed.
I've been checking the other Help pages with my MS software and everything
seems to be working OK except for the Help /Index function in MSFax for XP.
Click on the Index tab of the Help and the Fax Console closes down.
Do you have any thoughts on this niggle?

shows on the L hand pane, just a little icon in the top L hand corner.
I've run sfc /scannow with no effect, can anyone help?
